French Onion Soup

Its one of my favourite recipes of all time. There is nothing that warms me up more than a beautiful Onion Soup with croutons, made in the simple, traditional way that my ancestors cooked it.



4 Servings


Ingredients:

50gr butter

5 onions, finely sliced

10cl white wine

2 cloves of garlic, minced

1 litre chicken stock

1 bay leaf

1 sprig of thyme

Pepper


Instructions:

Melt the butter on medium low heat and add the onions. Cook for 15 minutes, stirring regularly. The onions will become soft & golden.

Add the wine, garlic, stock, bay leaf, thyme & pepper.

Bring to a boil, cover & simmer on low for 30 minutes.
